Cupra FIP Tour Thailand 2026: Samui, Phangan & How Bangkok Players Can Enter
Cupra FIP Tour Thailand 2026: the guide for Bangkok players
Thailand hosted two Cupra FIP Tour events in May 2026, both on the gulf islands. They are the highest-tier sanctioned padel tournaments ever played on Thai soil. This guide is for Bangkok-based players who want to enter, spectate or just understand how the international padel pyramid works.
At a glance.
- FIP Bronze Samui — 6–10 May 2026 (concluded; Spanish pairs took both finals).
- FIP Bronze Phangan — 14–17 May 2026 (Koh Phangan).
- Premier Padel 2026 calendar: no Thailand stop confirmed.
- Ranking points: FIP Bronze awards points toward the global FIP / Premier Padel ranking.
Confirmed Thailand 2026 events
FIP Bronze Samui — 6–10 May 2026
Played on Koh Samui in early May. The women's final went to the Spanish pair Alba Gallardo / Alba Perez; the men's final went to Luque / Caiano. Both pairs continued to Phangan the following week. The event was organised under the FIP Bronze format (smallest prize pool on the tour, but full sanctioning and ranking points).
FIP Bronze Phangan — 14–17 May 2026
Held on Koh Phangan a week after Samui. The Phangan stop is the second half of a "Thai swing" on the Cupra FIP Tour and used the same qualification pathway as Samui.

How the international padel pyramid works
There are two main international circuits:
- Premier Padel — the top global tour, owned partly by the FIP and the World Padel Tour's successor structure. No Thailand stop on the 2026 calendar (26 events across 18 countries; closest Asian stops have been Qatar and the UAE in recent seasons).
- Cupra FIP Tour — the sanctioned development tour beneath Premier Padel. Three tiers: Bronze (lowest), Silver, Gold. Points from FIP Tour events count toward the global FIP ranking, which feeds the Premier Padel cut.
Both Thailand 2026 events were FIP Bronze. A Thai player who reaches the main draw of a Bronze earns enough points to start showing up in the global FIP ranking — the first step toward Premier Padel qualification rounds.
How a Bangkok player can enter
- Register with the Thailand Padel Association (TPA). TPA handles national rankings via Rankedin and coordinates tryouts and entries for international events. Contact: thailandpadelassociation@gmail.com or +66 89 176 3767.
- Build a Rankedin profile. Cupra FIP Tour entries are seeded off Rankedin and FIP ranking points. Play in TPA-sanctioned events to accumulate domestic points first.
- Pair with a partner of similar level. FIP Bronze is open but entries are seeded — pairs with no points play qualifying rounds the week before the main draw.
- Plan the logistics. Both 2026 events were on islands. Flights to Samui (USM) or to Surat Thani for Phangan, plus 3–5 nights accommodation. Budget 25,000–40,000 THB per player including travel, accommodation and entry.
Spectating: more realistic for most Bangkok players
The Bronze events are intimate. Court-side seats are usually free or under 500 THB, and the smaller venue means you can watch warm-ups and chat to players. For Bangkok-based fans, the Phangan stop in particular is a long weekend with elite padel attached — pair the trip with the Saturday market or a long-tail boat ride.
Other regional events Bangkok players can travel to
If 2026 is your year, look beyond Thailand. The 2025–2026 FIP Tour calendar included several SEA-region events:
- FIP Bronze Kuala Lumpur (April 2026)
- FIP Silver Kuala Lumpur (April 2026)
- FIP Bronze Selangor (June 2026)
- FIP Bronze Yogyakarta (May 2026)
- Multiple FIP Bronze stops in Indonesia (July 2026)
KL is two hours from BKK on AirAsia and an easy weekend trip with a training partner. Always confirm dates with padelfip.com — the 2026 calendar continued to evolve as we published.
What about the Thai Padel Series?
The Thai Padel Series (TPS) is the domestic circuit. The 2026 calendar lists nine events including Hua Hin Open (January), Chiang Mai Open (February), Koh Samui Grand Slam (March), Bangkok stop (June) and Bangkok Finals (December). TPS is the most accessible competitive ladder for Bangkok players — no flights, lower entry fees and the ranking that TPA uses to seed national teams.

Cool, hot or rainy? Tournament timing in Bangkok
If you're organising training around domestic and international tournaments, our Bangkok padel season guide breaks down when each part of the country is playable. Most Bangkok-based clubs run open-court tournaments year-round; the international FIP swing tends to favour cool-to-shoulder season (November–May) when the islands are dry.

Frequently asked questions
Did Thailand host any padel tournaments in 2026?
Yes. Two Cupra FIP Bronze events were held in Thailand in May 2026: FIP Bronze Samui (6 to 10 May 2026) and FIP Bronze Phangan (14 to 17 May 2026). Both are part of the Cupra FIP Tour, the official development tour beneath Premier Padel.
Is Premier Padel coming to Thailand in 2026?
No. The 2026 Premier Padel calendar lists 26 events across 18 countries, but no Thai stop is confirmed. The closest Premier Padel events to Bangkok in recent seasons have been held in Qatar and the UAE. Thai players have only the Cupra FIP Tour route to international ranking points domestically in 2026.
How does the FIP padel ranking work?
The Federacion Internacional de Padel (FIP) ranks players globally based on points earned at Cupra FIP Tour events. The tour has three tiers: Bronze (smallest events), Silver, and Gold. Points from all three feed the global FIP ranking, which is used to seed entry into Premier Padel qualifying rounds.
Can a Bangkok amateur enter the Cupra FIP Tour?
Yes, but with a preparation step. Bangkok amateurs should first register with the Thailand Padel Association (TPA), build a Rankedin profile, and play Thai Padel Series events to accumulate domestic points. Cupra FIP Bronze events are open-entry but seeded by ranking, so unseeded pairs play qualifying rounds the week before the main draw.
How much does it cost to enter a FIP Bronze event in Thailand?
Entry fees for a Cupra FIP Bronze event are typically modest (often under 5,000 THB per pair), but travel, accommodation and prep matches push the realistic budget to 25,000 to 40,000 THB per player for an event held on Samui or Phangan. Spectator access is much cheaper, often free or under 500 THB.
What other padel tournaments can Bangkok players enter?
Beyond the Cupra FIP Tour, Bangkok players can enter the Thai Padel Series (TPS) — a domestic circuit with nine events in 2026 including stops in Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Bangkok and the Bangkok Finals in December. Regional Cupra FIP events in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Indonesia are also reachable from Bangkok by a short flight.
