Padel courts in Bangkok: indoor, outdoor, rooftop or covered? (2026)

Bangkok has more than two dozen padel venues offering four very different court experiences. The right court type changes how you play and how often you actually show up. This is the technical buyer's guide — for the ranked club list, see Courts. For the practical "where do I book?" version, see play padel in Bangkok.

The four court types in Bangkok

  1. Indoor / fully enclosed — air-conditioned arena. Examples: The Padel Co. (On Nut), Pad Thai Padel indoor courts, Baan Padel.
  2. Covered outdoor — roof + open sides. Examples: Kross Padel On Nut, No Drama Padel, Pad Thai outdoor.
  3. Rooftop — open or partially-roofed panoramic glass courts. Example: Bangkok Padel (Ambassador Hotel rooftop).
  4. Outdoor / open — fully exposed. Examples: Playerbox (Banthat Thong).

When to pick each type

Indoor: the only courts you can rely on in rainy season (June – October) and the most comfortable from March to May. Lighting is consistent, no wind, no glare. Pay a small premium and get the 2,000-THB-per-hour bookings reliably. Best for: improvers and competitive players in any season.

Covered outdoor: the sweet spot. Storms cannot close your booking but you still get the airflow that makes Bangkok evenings playable. Cheaper than fully indoor at most clubs. Best for: regulars who play twice a week year-round.

Rooftop: the experience win. Sukhumvit skyline, panoramic glass, sunset over the city. Best for: dates, visitors, one-off social sessions and Americanos. Worth budgeting for once a month.

Outdoor / open: the cheapest off-peak option in central Bangkok. Best for: morning sessions, cool-season play and players on a budget. Less reliable in rainy season.

What to look for in any Bangkok padel court

  • Panoramic glass back walls. Modern padel uses the wall as part of the game. Cheap clubs cut cost on glass thickness — it shows in ball rebound and audibility.
  • High-CRI lighting. Especially important for evening play.
  • Sand fill consistency. Old turf with patchy sand makes the ball skid unpredictably and chews your shoes faster.
  • Court spacing. Newer clubs (The Padel Co., Bel Club 22) leave proper run-off; older ones can feel claustrophobic.
  • A/C or covered cooling for indoor courts. Look for 24°C or cooler in match conditions.

Surface and ball: a quick technical aside

Almost every Bangkok padel court uses sand-filled artificial turf in green or blue. The ball bounce is medium-fast; the Babolat Padel Pro and Head Pro S are the two most-stocked match balls. Rooftop courts heat up faster (faster ball); covered and indoor courts give the most consistent bounce all year.

How to actually choose

Pick by which two of these matter most to you: price, reliability, experience, location. Indoor wins on reliability; rooftop wins on experience; outdoor wins on price; covered is the balanced compromise. Then filter by BTS access.
